Dr. Marlies Amarca came to California in 1976 from Switzerland. She has gone through California schools to become a Ph.D. psychologist with a California MFT (Marriage and Family therapist) license and a certificate in Behavioral Medicine. She has treated patients for many different ailments, from chronic pain, depression, anxiety and panic attacks to PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) from which many victims of trauma and crime suffer.

Psychotherapy means healing the ailing human soul.

Dr. Amarca has researched many alternatives to conventional healing methods, from thought control and positive thinking, medicinal herbs, biofeedback, relaxation and breathing exercises, affirmations, guided imagery, to prayer and meditation. Her book Peaceful Survival Skills describes the living skills necessary to survive trauma and live peacefully.

Dr. Amarca says: “My calling is to be here to remind the reader that you are not weak, defenseless and hopeless, that there are ways to change a bad situation into a good one, to protect yourself and your loved ones, and to even change the world from war to peace by learning to live peacefully.”
